What do I need to consider when carrying my baby?

  1. Before you put your baby in the Baby Carrier it is essential to adjust the bar on the hip belt. To do this, it is best to place your baby on the Baby Carrierfor example on a changing table or the couch. Then adjust the bar using the Velcro so that the edges go from the back of the knee to the back of the baby's knee when the baby is squatted. This is the only way to ensure the ergonomically correct squat-splay posture.
  2. Your baby must always be facing you when being carried. Babies should never be carried facing away from the person carrying them!
  3. You should carry your baby in the Baby Carrier that you can still easily give him a kiss on the head. This is called the head-kiss height.
  4. Pull your Baby Carrier so tightly that when your baby leans forward, it does not come away from your body. It should always be firmly against you.

Still have a question? We will answer it here!

Generally, the following applies to all carriers:

Baby size: from birth - 1.5 years
Toddler: 1 - 2 years
XL: 2 - 3 years

A child of 6 months should never be placed in a size other than the baby size. The back is not yet muscularly developed. Your baby would sink into the fabric.

At Flip sizes there are Toddler and XL there is the option of attaching the shoulder straps to the back part. Here you can simply try out how it is most comfortable for the wearer. This buckle should not be used with babies under one year, because it presses the baby's back into a preformed S-shape. For babies under one year of age, the back should be in the Baby Carrier however, should always be rounded.

carrying beginners we always recommend first the KOKADI Flip! Since it is super easy to put on, you do not need as much sensitivity as with other carrying models or with the Baby Wrap. The Flip has the fewest sources of error.

Already more experienced carrying parents, can go entirely according to their preferences. A Baby Wrap for example, offers an extremely wide range of tying methods. There are hardly any limits here. You can always try and experiment.

The Baby Carriers are perfect for on the go and on hotter days. Less fabric is perfect if you have a baby that sweats a lot or if you sweat quickly yourself. The best thing you can do is try them out!

Parents who want the perfect hybrid of both -. Baby Wrap and Baby Carrier - are looking for, go with the WrapStar best! At WrapStar you can buckle below and tie above, as with the cloth. Just try it out!

Children should be in the Baby Carrier ALWAYS face the person carrying them. That means belly to belly.
If you carry your child facing forward, it has no way to escape the stimuli of its environment. Thus it is forced to perceive far too many impressions. In addition, the ergonomically correct squat-to-spread posture cannot be guaranteed with the child facing forward.
If this posture is not guaranteed, hip dysplasia can be promoted. In addition, testicular congestion can occur in boys.

This is possible when your baby's head is safely in control.

Yes, your baby absolutely has to sit in the spread-squat position!
It is the natural position that a baby assumes, for example, when you lay him on his back. He pulls his legs together so that his knees are above his belly button. In this position, the child's hips can develop best.

By the way: In the case of hip deformities in newborns, special spreading pants are used to bring the child's legs into this squat spreading position. Stretching can also be used prophylactically or even therapeutically.

You are pregnant and still want to carry? Perfect!
For you we have our KOKADI Onbu. It is a back carrier, without a waist belt. Thus, nothing presses umbequem on your belly. The Onbu can be used for children from late sitting age.

You can even carry your twins very well in KOKADI carry them! The whole thing is called tandem carrying.
You carry one child in the front and one child in the back. However, you should not use this method of carrying for a short time after the birth in order to protect your pelvic floor.

All of our baby carriers are actually suitable for tandem carrying. It's best to try them out and see which combination is right for you. For example, a combination of Flip and TaiTai. You can also tandem carry sideways! This works, for example, with two RingSlings or by using a Baby Wrap left and right hip sling.

Also in the Facebook group: KOKADI Official Fanclub you'll find lots of helpful tips and insights on the topic of twin wears.

Basically, a suitable Baby Carrier without much fabric is always suitable for summer. So for example our KOKADI Flip and the TaiTai. Fabrics that are rather thin and made of organic cotton, for example, are particularly suitable. Because cotton has an acclimatizing effect.
At Baby Wraps and RingSlings can be based on the basis weight. Fabrics with a low FG also tend to be thinner.
For those who sweat very quickly in the summer or like to be on the go and I move, for our KOKADI Flip Performance Air is exactly the right thing! The back part can be rolled up here and exposes a layer of mesh fabric. Likewise, mesh was processed in the shoulder straps. Mesh is particularly air-permeable and therefore super comfortable for baby and wearer in the summer. Just convince yourself!

All our Baby Carriers are suitable for winter! The key here is to dress yourself and your child properly!
Especially in winter should not have worn over the jacket. Baby and carrier benefit from keeping each other warm under the jacket. We recommend a baby carrier jacket for this purpose. Underneath, you can dress your baby just as you would dress yourself. This also has the advantage that the baby does not have to be undressed when you put it down to sleep. So it can continue to slumber peacefully.
